SCANS

SCANS is an information System for Compression and Analysis of Nucleotide Sequence that stores genomic sequences as inter-genome differences (~0.1%) tremendously reducing storage space while offering pre-computed polymorphism data. 

SCANS can compress DNA sequence data to less than 0.2 bits per nucleotide.

SCANS can rapidly compare sequences based on deltas without decompression.
